That Extra Day Really Helped

July 4th is a public holiday in the US. This year it fell on a Monday, which means an automatic three day weekend. As I was driving to the office about a week ago, this dawned on me, and I decided to take an extra day to make it a four day weekend.

After thinking whether the previous Friday or the following Tuesday made the most sense, Friday raised itself to the top of the pile. I get into the office and find out that the following Tuesday is a company sponsored holiday, so the previous Friday becomes a total no brainer.

After striking out (Brits, google that phrase) on both the Friday (morning on the Ducati) and Sunday (in the car, stuck in holiday traffic), today (Tuesday) held the most promise.

Today (Tuesday) lived up to that promise - got to see condors too close (there was no wind and they were by the road, I was super close trying to shoo them to safer environs) and got to see the fog kissing the Big Sur coast. I made a video of the latter (Mum - hit mute before viewing!) - it's here.
