After a weekend on the ocean, it's back to condors!

Hey, sea life is still in play - well, sea life in the form of a deceased sea lion.

Seafood supply and a stiff breeze combined for perfect conditions for condors to take advantage of a dead sea lion down on the beach. I saw at least 13 different condors - photos are here.

World Cup and Whales

The weekend started with the World Cup. I invited a bunch of folks over to watch the game at my place, and in the end there were four of us watching the game (two cheering for England, one neutral and one US fan) - the English flag was flying outside the house too.

Shame it ended in a draw.

The weather was really nice both days, and on Sunday, given that the weather was as nice as it was and the sea was calm, Ali and I decided to go whale watching in the afternoon. Of course, that meant that just off the coast, we ran into a big fog bank, but the crew searched high and low for a whale and we found one eventually!

We also had some really cool encounters with different sorts of dolphins, including the double Risso breach seen below.
