Rods on the Wharf

The town of Monterey is into its motors. What with the events year round at Laguna Seca, a mere 6 miles down the road, and their spill over effect, in particular the historic weekend. There are events not really tied into Laguna too, such as the Cherry's Jubilee Hot Rod weekend.

Well, apparently, there's one (smaller) event I'd not heard of - Rods on the Wharf, which consists of a smaller set of Hot Rods taking over the customs plaza.

This event was happening at the same time as the weekly Farmers Market takes over Alvarado Street, so I took in the market too. It's a good Farmer's Market, lots of fresh produce, lots of different cooked food stands and a fair few arts and crafts stalls too, taking over the whole of Alvarado Street and a couple of the side streets too.

Here's a self portrait at the Hot Rod show.

Next to the hot rod show, Fisherman's Wharf was looking rather photogenic in the evening's twilight.

I grabbed some Greek beef, tomato, rice and spinach burrito like thing from the Farmers Market to tied me over whilst I checked out the rods - all good!
