Civic Hybrid, 6.1 years to pay for itself!

Even with all the tax breaks that Hybrids are currently getting, it still takes 6.1 years for a Civic hybrid to pay for itself over the non-hybrid version of the same car. See the Edmunds.com report here.

The Prius doesn't have a direct equivalent non-hybrid version, but compared to a Corolla, it'd take a whopping 13.6 years to pay for itself.

If I were buying a car based on its fuel economy, I'd get the Corolla over the Prius every time.
